New free album from Street Nymphs

Hi Folks!

We're happy to announce Snowplains, a new double-album from Street Nymphs, now available for free download through Bandcamp!  Snowplains was created as a Christmas gift for friends and family, and now that Christmas is over we're extending the gift to you.  It's a full 90-minute cassette worth of mostly-improvised music with a few songs (both released and unreleased) sprinkled in.  Instruments range from the guitar-harmonica combo to a beats-and-keys blend of computer-sequenced percussion and Yamaha YS-200.

In other news, we've just uploaded the lyrics booklet for Good Spirits to the Time Voodoo Google Drive, so you can download that here.  You don't even have to purchase the album--just download the PDF & peruse at your leisure, or read along as you listen.

Friday Update

Hello folks,

We've got various tidbits of news for you from this week, most of which is very exciting, so I'll get right to it!

First of all, we've finally added a page for Street Nymphs, my little music project since 2011.  And more on that, the release date for Street Nymphs' second full album, Good Spirits, has been set for 10/25/13!  You can find a track listing of Good Spirits on the Street Nymphs page, as well as album art and links to a few preview tracks.

In other news, the Voodoo Music Generator has gone entirely free!  We're beginning the process of preparing the code to be released as open source, and since the software will be available for free once that happens, it seemed a little silly to keep charging for it for the time being.  Anyhow, head over to the downloads page to get the Voodoo Music Generator Full Edition, which will let you generate music for your choice of 128 different instruments, in any arrangement you can imagine.

Anyhow, that should about wrap it up for now.  I'll try and keep doing these on Fridays, especially since we've got a couple new projects coming up in the next few months, so stay tuned!

Voodoo Music Generator (Full Edition) Official Release!

It's true--the Full Edition of the Voodoo Music Generator is now available to all!  You can read more about that here.

We've also created this little graphic, which conveys nothing about how the VMG actually works, but perhaps captures the spirit of the project a bit...

Voodoo Music Generator Lite Edition Released -- Full Edition Delayed

Hey Folks,

As planned, we set out to deploy the Voodoo Music Generator on this most superstitious of holidays, but unfortunately (unluckily?) it seems the initial plan for distribution of the Full Edition is not going to work out as expected. As such, the release of the Full Edition has been delayed while we figure out the best way to go about it.

In the meantime, though, the Lite Edition is up and running and entirely free to download, so have at it!

Voodoo Music Generator Release Date Set for 9/13/13!

That's right!  The first build of the Voodoo Music Generator is essentially complete, and both the Full and Lite versions will become available this Friday, September 13. 

We'll post some more information about how to use the software on release day.  Until then, here is a screenshot of the music generator in action!

 In other news, we've also added a unit of curriculum material over John Green's Looking for Alaska, designed for a high school English classroom by Katrina High.

You may have also noticed that we've added a People page, where you can find more information about the creators behind Time Voodoo Studios, though this is still a work in progress, and we will hopefully have several more bios added before long.

Right now we are putting the finishing touches on the first release of the Voodoo Music Generator, a computer program that generates songs. We will hopefully have that published sometime in the upcoming week, though no official release date has been set.

We also have several other projects that are working their way into the lineup--more on them later!
